This office unit located in Vikaspuri, Delhi was designed for a client dealing in tiles, marbles, and stone finishes. The client’s requirement was very clear — to have a segregated office cabin divided into three zones: one for her official work, one for partying and relaxing, and one as a private smoking zone.

The site itself was long and narrow, with the east-facing wall completely lined with windows. While the light from this side was beautiful, it posed a challenge in terms of glare and privacy. We wanted to preserve the natural daylight while keeping the space visually calm, so instead of blocking the windows, we used jali patterns and light-filtering materials, allowing a soft play of natural light through the day.

On entering the main door, the first section opens up into the work zone, where the main closet and workstation are placed, with ample built-in storage to manage files, samples, and accessories. The major design challenge was an imaginary continuous column line that ran through the space. We turned this challenge into an opportunity — by covering the columns with wooden-finish laminates and acrylic sheets, complemented by decorative clay sculptures and textured finishes, creating a unified and artistic wall feature. Behind these designed panels, we smartly added hidden storage shelves for functionality.

Moving ahead, the space transitions into a lounge area — a semi-formal zone with comfortable seating, a small balcony, and a relaxed atmosphere that doubles up as a party corner for gatherings and casual meetings. The walls here are finished with 3D wall laminates and printed textures, adding depth and visual warmth.

Towards the end, we designed a compact smoking zone, ensuring privacy while maintaining continuity in design. The space has been finished with earthy tones and soft textures, keeping it minimal yet comfortable.

Throughout the project, we have played with natural materials, subtle textures, and warm lighting, reflecting the client’s business in marbles and tiles while creating a balanced, elegant, and practical workspace.

The overall design brings together work, leisure, and comfort — all in one continuous flow, just like the natural patterns that inspire it.
